Urvanity is mostly known for being the first Spanish Fair dedicated to New Contemporary Art, which takes place every year during the Madrid Art Week. A fair they took to the next level this year, presenting additionally to an impressive proposal of represented artists and galleries, a Special Curated Program which included a program of site-specific installations, murals and Solo Shows, featuring renowned artists like Dan Witz, Jan Kaláb, Okuda, 1010, Miss Van, Isaac Cordal and many more. Additionally, during the fair’s conference room, itself was an amazing immersive installation created by Penique Productions.
But actually, Urvanity goes beyond the art fair, describing itself as a content platform which impulses the artistic values that nowadays form the popular culture through the creation of cultural projects based on new contemporary art, the so called Urvanity Projects.
Projects with the aim to promote the New Contemporary Art and bring it closer to the general public, to make art more accessible and to break the cliché of art being unreachable for the majority of the population, as they also demonstrate in each of the fair’s edition.
During the last year they created projects like Tuenti Urban Art Academy an initiative with the purpose to bring Urban Art closer to Fine Arts students, the immersive exhibition Destination 131 with Iberia in Paris, an exhibition with of a selection of 12 artists inside an artwork created by L’Atlas and collaborated in Swatch Cities where they collaborated with Boa Mistura and Antonyo Marest realizing various projects in Madrid.
