Talented photographer and street art documenter Butterfly shared with us her latest documentary on Banksy Bemusement Park ‘Dismaland’ in collaboration with Arte Creative and presented along with Lars Pedersen. The 30 minutes production gives us a chance to recount Banksy Dismaland experience in Weston-Super-Mare, UK a few months ago (covered here).
To the question ‘try to describe the atmosphere’ Butterfly comments ‘it’s feels like a fun fair where you can be entertained, but at the same time it feels depressing as it gives a real view on today’s society – it addresses everyday’s topics such as politics or environment. It’s like a wakeup call’.
At the time Banksy Dismaland temporary pop-up show immediately made the headlines drawing attention to many visitors, whether they were familiar with the artist’s work or not. Located at the unexpected Tropicana, a derelict lido site, this coverage gives a chance to the ones who could not attend to experience Dismaland.
There is also a version of the documentary in German here.
