Tereza Dequinta is an artist, from the Ceará and charming.
The art appeared in his life early on when played to imitate the designs of bed spreads that her mother bought for her and her siblings.
In adolescence, through a mutual friend, she met her life partner and art, Robézio Marqs, at the same time he decided to attend college Visual Arts. Robézio and she were good friends and, with so many affinities, love arise immediately.
Robézio had the collective Acidum along with 4 other friends, where each had a different working language. Tereza took to become a kind of intern of the collective boys: helped in the assembly of exhibitions, gave support in street paintings, assisting with projects and etc. The 1st exhibition of Acidum, the Dragão do Mar (Fortaleza art reference center), Tereza helped throughout the assembly process and construction and thus was absorbing a lot of knowledge for professional growth.
In 2008 she participated in the Acidum Laboratory where he met some girls who were at the same time of life it: wanting to work with urban art but not knowing where and how to start. Together they formed a group of women called only “Collective Seal” that had a proposal focused on the technique of licks licks, since they did not have long to produce directly in the streets. The plan was: to produce at home and go to the streets only to paste the arts, fine fast.
In 2011, when the Acidum completed five years of action, a new phase came within the collective. Each member followed a different path and more independent in life and art, including Robézio who went on to give a new direction for the project. At this point, Tereza was already with the “Collective Seal” and has had a very consistent individual work and a very definite identity. The final entry in Acidum it ended up being a very natural process, since she was always beside Robézio working and creating together. Therefore, let the “Seal” and went on to devote 100% to Acidum project.
Tereza is a very complete artist. It mixes different techniques such as graffiti, lick-lick, stencil, woodcut, embroidery and tattoo, his newest passion. The world of tattoo on his life came when many people started asking her drawings to tattoo, and when she first saw one its design in the skin of someone, he thought: “This is amazing! I want to make my designs on the skin of people too!”. Quickly organized a workshop tattoo within your own home with the artist Nando Zevê, learned this new technique and fell in love.
But her tattoo has a differential. Tereza tattoos only drawings made by it based on the stories that people tell him: a story of life, a defining moment, someone special, etc. Thus, the artist creates a close, special and rare relationship with your audience.
Recently, Tereza had an enriching experience to participate in a project called “Matrix – Spellings Women” in Juazeiro do Norte, in the Cariri, Ceará. As this project was only for women artists, she embarked on this experience without Robézio company. At first, Tereza was surprised, as it was the 1st time in 4 years that she was traveling without it, but the result of this project was very positive and satisfactory, adding too much in his career.
Tereza carries under his belt many art festivals that take place throughout the world, as the show SESC Cariri of Arts in Cariri Ceará, Brazil; the Redoubt Walls in Belem, Brazil; Recifusion in Recife, Brazil; ArtRua in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the Book Fair in Cape Verde; Wynwood Walls, in Miami, where he painted next to Robézio on an important corner in the area next to the greats like Alexis Diaz, Cope and Os Gêmeos and the latest festival, the City Leaks, in Germany.
How to travel a lot, she jokes that ends up spending more time in the house other than in your own home. But when it comes to your home, is dedicated entirely to his studio. It has the pleasure to organize your materials and work tools, paint, create and enjoy their creative spaces: a painting room and another drawing only!
And between brushes, paints, pens and inspirations that Tereza lives his life the way he loves most: breathing art everywhere.
