German urban artist native to Frankfurt, Andres Von Chrzanowski (a.k.a.
CASE just produced a brilliant mural in line with the WALL STREET ART of Grand Paris Sud. Started in 2015 the street art festival of Evry, in France welcomed fifty artists from the six cities of the area. Once known as Grand Paris Sud it has now grown from 6 to 24 municipalities. The Festival has now a name.
The project is led by the Artistic Director Gautier Jourdain, also co-founder with Mathilde Jourdain of the well known Galerie Mathgoth. While continuing the work done before, the idea is to give a second breath to the festival so that it still gains in notoriety. The majority of the works presented are large frescoes involving artists from the international scene. Make sure to check out our coverage of previous artworks here on the blog!
The German artist CASE MACLAIM produced his new fresco early September in the city of Grigny (91) – District of La Grande Borne. The new artwork is 15 x 10 meters and entitled Pile or Face” which translated Stack of Face into English.
The district of La Grande Borne is huge and the number of inhabitants of the neighbourhood alone is 13,000. The total population of the town of Grigny being 26.600.
The artist was accompanied by his wife SAMIRA who always has a leading role in the achievements of her husband. The couple took great pleasure painting in this neighborhood, in constant contact with the population and especially young people who were eager to fish for information and share the brand new work.
The fresco entitled “Pile or Face” is resolutely pro-European. It shows the artist’s signature work painting hands as combining movement and transparencies.
After completing this new work, the couple took off for the United States where CASE is invited to create new murals in both San Diego and Detroit.
The new work has been brilliantly documented with photographs from Gautier Jourdain. Have a look!
