Following the avid support of the Splash and Burn lithograph, Ernest Zacharevic presents No Fly Zone, a hand finished 20 layer silkscreen print to be released on 2nd December.
The image depicts a young boy playing dress up; an aviator cap atop his head and holding in his hands a paper plane; caught in a moment of dynamic thought he glances sideways, poised to release it into the air. The face and hands have been created with transparent inks and silkscreens, a process which produces a rich blend of tones ore representative of the original canvas. The body has been hand finished with spray paints in his signature style, leaving each work a unique rendering. The finished piece is varnished with deckled edges.
The original canvas with customised frame will be available via auction with Sotheby’s on 8th December in their first ever dedicated street art Auction in Hong Kong ‘Take it to the Streets’ The event is run in partnership with the Hong Kong Contemporary Art Foundation (HOCA) and will feature works from José Parla, Vhils and invader to name a few.
At a low entry price of $2,000 collectors will have the opportunity to secure a exemplary demonstration of Ernests more icon spray style. After a busy year of environmental activity, No Fly Zone will be only the 4th original produced in 2017, 2018 will reveal an exciting new body of work with a solo show later in the year. Details to following in the coming months.
