James Cochran aka Jimmy C just completed a new mural in Port Augusta, Australia for the Desert Fringe Festival.
Now London-based the artist just returned to his home land where he played a key role in the development of the underground graffiti movement after working on numerous mural commissions and community arts projects.
The location makes this new realisation unique. The artist wanted to humanise the structure making reference both to the Ancient Aztec King with a crown and to the aboriginal Australians – a man half under the ground. There is a melancholic element to this latest realisation as the character is being buried while he supports the weight of the modern world on its head.
It took Jimmy C three days to complete under the Australian sunshine using spray and scribbling technique.
