Brazilian artist Muretz unconventionally transposes everything to his art, well known for his playful ideas and distinctive style, is always showing a very satirical sense of humor.
For his solo show presented on March 30th at the Montana Gallery Barcelona he included works on paper and canvas and recreated some of his street art using the squeeze pen to show how we all are “Stuck in Purgatory.”
Directly from São Paulo, Muretz’s sombre creations squirm in our eyes and take us to their particular surreal universe, with clean and resplendent outlines. The artist materializes his ideas through an amazing style, in the form of small capsules with a morbid and funny touch.
Born in São Paulo in 1976, Muretz paints daily life with fun characters and a cynical humor. After his studies in Social Communication in Brazil and Design in London, the artist begins to move internationally with mural interventions and always maintaining a deep approach to society and its manners.
Opening on Thursday, March 30 at 8pm.
Exhibition from March 31 to May 27, 2017.
