Following the acclaimed success of Moniker Art Fair’s international debut this May, which saw a highly-curated collection of urban contemporary artists and galleries from across the globe arrive in Brooklyn, NYC, we are pleased to hear that Moniker now prepares to return to its London stomping ground at the Old Truman Brewery this October!
As the world’s largest urban art fair, having achieved breaking sales and audience records in 2017, this year’s fair will step up ambitions to take on bigger challenges and projects while reducing the number of galleries exhibiting from forty to thirty and, for the first time, the fair will operate on an invitation only basis.
Themed ‘uncensored’, Moniker will see artist and gallery spaces working to curate experiences that exceed tradition, expectation or propriety. Allowing the urban contemporary scene to be itself means breaking free of the trappings of the market as it currently exists, providing a platform for voices that are trying to bring about change. Without censorship, the scene can finally be heard, and welcome more people inside.
