We always love to discover Jorge Rodríguez-Gerada latest huge creations in the public space. Internationally known for his innovative artistic work and for the diversity of techniques that he applies in his prolific production, Jorge is taking it to a newer level with his latest project.
Jorge Rodriguez Gerada gifted the Barcelona-based DEN Hall wall with one of his signature larger-than-life wall murals during an exclusive DEN Culture event held in October.
Telling us more about it, Jorge explains “I have been selected by the JET8 Foundation to receive an art and technology grant that is innovative and unique. The foundation, through its DEN Culture initiative (Decentralized Engagement Networks), has created an app specifically for me. This tech allows me to have a different type of dialog with people that follow my work. I created a mural and gave a small conference to present the collaboration at the DEN Culture Space in Barcelona.
The mural is of my friend Desislava Staneva, a Barcelona based art curator who supports the local art community.
We are now in the process of finalizing the app that will become a social network community about my work and how people can participate actively with content and receive money for doing so. This money can then be used to support social and artistic projects. Looking forward to telling you more when the launch date gets closer.”
