David Walker spent four days on his piece for ‘Out In the Open’ Mural Festival in Aalborg, Denmark.
With the project “Out in the Open” launched in 2014, Gallery KIRK has initiated a longer row of large scale murals by international street artists.
‘The purpose with the project is to create a growing number of murals in the city by high-profile national and international artists, and thereby highlight Aalborg even more as an art and culture centre while simultaneously creating an energetic public space for the benefit of all citizens. Art should not just be for the privileged but for all – so let’s bring it out in the open!” GALLERY KIRK
David Walker just created an elaborate color-explosive portrait using directly applied spray paint. His unique style is achieved without the use of stencils or brushes and is blended through as colors drip or mixed. We can only imagine the level detail and precision the artist has to create the contrast, shadows, and textures to create this woman portrait.
