In an Instagram post published yesterday street artist Banksy have turned up unannounced at the Venice Biennale, and pulled his latest stunt with an unauthorized stall on one of the city’s most famous piazzas.
Banksy posted a short video showing a man with a series of paintings depicting a massive cruise ship. The caption reads:
‘Setting out my stall at the Venice Biennale’.
‘Despite being the largest and most prestigious art event in the world, for some reason I’ve never been invited’ .
The paintings refers to the overtourism phenomenon in Venice, and also reminds us of his New York take over when he sold paintings for $60 in Central Park.
