It has been a busy year for French artist Vinie Graffiti. As 2016 is coming to an end, today we share the artist’s works around the world.
Hailing from Toulouse, Vinie is among the few female artists on the scene. She has been drawing and painting since her childhood but it was in high school that she developed her interest to graffiti. The lettering and the precision of the details on the letters allowed her to gradually master this new technique. Her participation to different gigs and other themed murals lead her to diversify towards the creation of her signature characters, now famous around the globe.
Back in 2007 a new role as Artistic Director takes her to Paris when she intuitively turns towards a more personal and less realistic figurative work. She starts showcasing on the walls of the capital her characters, a female figure halfway between a doll and a pin-up that all can recognize to her hairstyle, made of tags, flops and various details.
The contrast between the lines of the character and the facets of the graffiti present in the hair perfectly reflect the graphic universe of this artist. A Modern and retro genre, between the pin-up aesthetics of the 50s and mangas, tinted with that hip-hop vibe.
Her meeting with Anti in 2013 allowed Vinie to add another string to her bow. With this generous visual artist, she discovers a completely different world with a key element: volume. These days Vinie is very demanded carrying out live paintings, commissioned for a multitude of murals, exhibited in many art galleries in France and abroad.
We have made a selection of different creations by Vinie throughout 2016 for you to enjoy.
2016 was the occasion for Vinie to create her first sculpture during the Parisian event ‘La Reserve Malakoff’ held in June. The collaborative work with REA was made with the help of Anti.
Vinie took part in this unique project located in Villars-Fontaine in the Burgundy region of France where she painted in the old quarries. Many volunteers participated to the project in this small village of 140 inhabitants.
Let’s travel to Colombia for Capfest 2016 & Alliance Française Armenia – Bogota – Pereira.
Give it three days and a surface of 90 sq. meter wall and here is the result! Vinie participated along with other artists to the International Contemporary Art Festival Kutasai in Georgie.
A platform for cultural expression, recreation, and events, The Docks – Cité de la Mode et du Design is located at the very heart of Paris, between the Gare d’Austerlitz and the Gare de Lyon. As the only Parisian event space directly connected to the Seine, with its Batobus stop, the Cité is truly unique, a source of inspiration for future lifestyle(s). Vinie completed this mural entitled Wall in Fire.
Another iconic mural located at Creche Paris 13th district with REA
Last but not least. Mural completed in Paris for Rosa Parks Fait le mur.
